oneworld and Moscow Domodedovo Airport plan to open a branded business lounge for the member airlines

The oneworld airlines alliance and Moscow Domodedovo airport have agreed to build a branded lounge to promote cooperation. The initiative is the first of its kind for oneworld in the world’s airports.

The new service strives to improve the quality of services for frequent flyers, traveling with the oneworld member airlines. The partners will announce the openings date and further details in 2020.

The new lounge is only the beginning, and we look forward to learning from this collaborative development with Domodedovo Airport as we launch additional oneworld lounges in the rest of the world», - said oneworld CEO Rob Gurney.

Domodedovo serves as a major air hub for the oneworld alliance in Russia. The airport handles over 120 daily flights of the member airlines, including British Airways, Iberia, Qatar, Royal Jordanian, Japan Airlines. In the first 11 months of 2019, Domodedovo and oneworld airlines served more than 12.6 million passengers. Growth relative to the same period last year is 5%.

oneworld brings together 13 world-class airlines - American Airlines, British Airways, Cathay Pacific Airways, Finnair, Iberia, Japan Airlines, LATAM, Malaysia Airlines, Qantas, Qatar Airways, Royal Jordanian, S7 Airlines and SriLankan Airlines, and around 30 of their affiliates. Royal Air Maroc is on track to join during 2020. Fiji Airways is a oneworld connect partner. Collectively, these airlines:

        ·    Serve 1,100 airports in 180 territories, with 14,000 daily departures.
        ·    Carry almost 550 million passengers a year on a combined fleet of 3,500 aircraft.
        ·    Generate US$ 135 billion annual total revenues.

oneworld member airlines work together to deliver consistently a superior, seamless travel experience, with special privileges and rewards for frequent flyers, including earning and redeeming miles and points across the entire alliance network. Top tier cardholders (Emerald and Sapphire) enjoy access to more than 650 airport lounges and are offered extra baggage allowances. The most regular travelers (Emerald) can also use fast track security lanes at select airports.
