Moscow Domodedovo Airport joined the Earth Hour movement

2 April, 2019. Domodedovo, Moscow region. Moscow Domodedovo Airport participated in the international environmental initiative Earth Hour for the first time. On March 30 Domodedovo’s multilevel car park (P2) situated near the terminal went dark when local clocks hit 8:30 pm.

The multilevel car park is the most brightly lit building on the airport’s territory. Moscow Domodedovo Airport turned off P2 façade lights joining hundreds of thousands of companies all over the world in an initiative calling for greater awareness and more sparing use of resources.

P2 is the first multilevel car park in Moscow Domodedovo Airport. It possesses a total of 1500 car parking spaces. The airport launched this car park on the threshold of 2018 FIFA World Cup.

Earth Hour is the most mass global environmental initiative. The World Wide Fund for Nature inspired the movement back in 2007. In 2019 2 billion people representing 188 different countries participated in the event. Moscow’s landmarks including the Kremlin, the Red Square, etc. switched off the lights for Earth Hour.
