First China-Friendly Airport Certified in Russia

The first airport in Russia has been certified under the China-Friendly standard. Domodedovo Airport has passed a comprehensive audit and confirmed its high service standards and readiness to welcome passengers from China. The certificate was issued by the Roskachestvo‑Tourism (Russian Standard Authority - Tourism) certification body for a period of three years. Currently, it is the only airport in Russia holding an active China Friendly certificate.

Experts from Roskachestvo conducted a comprehensive assessment of the airport with the involvement of native Chinese speakers, including the use of the «mystery shopper» method. The audit covered all key areas of passenger services: arrival and departure zones, business lounges, food outlets, sanitary facilities, as well as an evaluation of the airport’s official website functionality in terms of usability for Chinese-speaking users.

During the audit, specialists paid particular attention to passenger orientation convenience: the presence of navigation signs in Chinese, multilingual voice announcements (in Russian, English, and Chinese), and free access to warm water — an important comfort element for Chinese tourists.

In addition, experts assessed staff proficiency in Chinese and English, their readiness to assist passengers, and the overall customer-centric approach of the service. The airport team demonstrated high engagement and professionalism in meeting the requirements of the China Friendly standard.

Certification under the China Friendly standard opens significant strategic opportunities for Domodedovo Airport: it enhances its appeal to Chinese airlines and strengthens its position as one of the key hubs in the Eurasian transport corridor. This also contributes to the development of Russian-Chinese cooperation in tourism and transportation, and to the integration of Russian airport infrastructure into international hospitality standards. Information about the certification is entered into the Rosakkreditatsiya (Russian Accreditation) registry.

The audit certificate was presented to Andrei Ivanov, General Director of Domodedovo Airport, by Yulia Mikhaleva, Deputy Head of Roskachestvo, in the presence of Alexey Buevich, Deputy Head of the Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsia).
