Airline on-time performance in January 2016

Moscow Domodedovo Airport announced the winners of the monthly punctuality contest for its partner airlines. In January 2016, the most punctual airlines were Orenburg Airlines, Red Wings, Nordavia, Izhavia, Uzbekistan Airways, SWISS, Azerbaijan Airlines, and Aegean Airlines.

Moscow Domodedovo Airport bottom-lines the punctuality contest between partner airlines on a monthly basis in eight classes - depending on the frequency of flights and maximum take-off weight of the aircraft. In Category 1, the winner was Orenburg Airlines with 571 flights precisely on schedule. The leader in Category 1 was Red Wings with 264 on-time flights. Nordavia performed 73 flights on schedule and was the most punctual carrier in Category 3. Izhavia performed 55 flights on schedule and won in Category 4.

On-time performance of foreign air carriers was assessed in the following four categories. Following airlines were the most punctual in their respective categories: Uzbekistan Airways (131 flights on schedule), SWISS (94 flights), Azerbaijan Airlines (55 flights), and Aegean Airlines (26 flights).

Partner airlines of Moscow Domodedovo Airport routinely lead the global punctuality rating by the international agency Flightstats. For instance, in January 2016 the top 10 of air carriers with the best on-time performance featured airlines such as Iberia, Japan Airlines, Singapore Airlines, and Qatar Airways.

Moscow's Domodedovo International Airport is one of Russia's largest aviation hubs. In 2015, the airport handled 30.5 million passengers. According to Skytrax rating, it is the best airport in Russia and the CIS.
