The commentary from Moscow Domodedovo Airport re termination of the criminal case in relation to current and former employees of the company
Moscow Domodedovo Airport is happy to announce that the criminal case in relation to current and former employees of the airport, as well as Chairman of the Board Dmitry Kamenshchik under Art. 238 of the Criminal Code of Russia has been terminated due to absence of elements of crime in their actions.On 23rd September, 2016 during a hearing at Moscow’s Basmanny Court, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation stated that the criminal case and associated criminal prosecution had been terminated by virtue of the demand issued by the Russian Prosecutor General’s Office. In this connection, Basmanny Court ruled to discontinue consideration of the complaint brought by trial lawyers regarding the inaction of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.
The Russian Prosecutor General’s Office had earlier sent the Investigative Committee repeated demands to take immediate measures to remedy violations of law committed in the said criminal case. The taken decision on cessation of the criminal case corroborates groundlessness of brought accusations and is a result of a consistent and principled stance taken by the Prosecutor General’s Office of Russia.
It is worth mentioning that the legal stance of Moscow Domodedovo Airport was, and has remained, unchanged – there are no elements of crime in the actions of the airport’s former and current employees, and the airport was, and is, in due compliance with all the security measures prescribed by law.
