Results in May: Domodedovo airport passenger traffic on Russian routes continues to grow

Moscow Domodedovo Airport summed up the results of its operational activities in May 2021 – the passenger traffic of the air hub amounted to 2.2 million people. On domestic airlines, the traffic continues to grow – a 40% year-to-year increase compared to May 2019 – it is 1.939 million passengers.

The leaders in passenger traffic of Moscow Domodedovo Airport were Sochi, Simferopol, Saint Petersburg, Kaliningrad and Krasnodar. 727 thousand people were transported on these routes, a 59% year-over-year rise. The largest increase in traffic was fixed in Sochi, Simferopol, Kaliningrad, Gelendzhik and Anapa. The passenger traffic to these cities amounted to 642 thousand people, two times more than in the same period 2019.

On international flights, Domodedovo airport served 285 thousand travelers in May.

In May airlines partners launched new destinations from Domodedovo. Red Wings opened daily flights to Saransk, Nizhnekamsk, Saratov and Ulyanovsk. Air Arabia resumed flights to Sharjah with a frequency of four flights per week. S7 Airlines launched weekly flights to Hannover and Bologna.
