Granel Group to Build a 5-Star Hotel at DME

August 14, 2017, Domodedovo, Moscow Region. Moscow's Moscow Domodedovo Airport and Granel Group have signed an agreement on the construction of a five-star hotel. The hotel will be built in the immediate vicinity of the airport.

According to the project, the hotel will have 400 suites, junior suites, and standard rooms with a total area of 30,000 sq.m. The hotel will also feature two restaurants, a spa with a swimming pool, and a separate accommodation and lounge for crew members.

«More than 16,000 ha of land adjoining the airport has been set aside for long-term development. This is a strategic advantage of Domodedovo, and we are focused on maximizing the potential of these properties, including through joint projects with partners», — noted Mr. Alexander Volkov, Managing Director at Domodedovo Development.

«It will be a five-star hotel located right at the airport. According to our calculations, the investments will exceed 3.2 billion rubles, and given that DME is one of Russia's largest airports, the demand for accommodation is expected to be consistently strong», — said Mr. Andrey Nazarov, Board Chair at Granel Group. He added that the construction project will span over 3 years.

Currently, Granel Group is negotiating with the global hotel operator Starwood, recently merged with Marriott, a Sheraton franchise.

Hospitality industry is one of the most promising and priority business areas for Granel Group. Its project portfolio in the industry includes a five-star hotel completed in 2015 and operated under the Sheraton brand.
