Domodedovo Int. Airport Orders Towbars for the Newcomers in Russia - Airbus A320neo and A350
By the end of 2016, Moscow's Domodedovo International Airport will purchase 44 new aircraft towbars, including towbars for Airbus A320neo and A350.
Towbars will be supplied complete with all the equipment necessary to ensure safe aircraft towing. These will include chassis with hydraulically adjustable height from the ground, floating axle for compensation in U-turns and reducing friction at coupling, rotating towing head to compensate for the uneven ramp surface, shock absorber to mitigate dynamic loads when towing aircraft.
This November, Domodedovo International Airport received the first shipment of towbars for following aircraft families: Airbus 300/310, A320 family, including A320neo, as well as A330, A340, and A350. In addition, new towbars have been ordered for B-767, B-777, B-787.
The airports partner airline S7 Airlines will be the first Russian carrier to introduce the modern Airbus A320neo family. First deliveries are expected in the spring of 2017.
In addition, this December Singapore Airlines will introduce its newest Airbus A350-900 to the Russian market. The debut commercial flight on the new Airbus will depart from Moscow December 15, 2016. Starting in early 2017, all flights from Moscow operated by Singapore Airlines will be on this aircraft model.
