Domodedovo Certified as Aviation Security Staff Training Center
May 10, 2017, Domodedovo, Moscow Region. Moscow Domodedovo Airport, ranked the best airport in Russia, was issued certificate by the Russian Federal Aviation Authority evidencing compliance with the federal aviation standards for aviation security staff training centers. The certificate authorizes Moscow Domodedovo Airport to train staff for any Russian airports, airlines, and other businesses.
Commenting on the news, Ms. Yekaterina Yunina, Managing Director at Domodedovo Training, said: «Moscow Domodedovo Airport is actively developing its training center in accordance with the industry's ever changing needs. Since 2007, the number of the company's staff responsible for aviation security has almost doubled, from 943 to 1,712 in 2016. That increase in the staff numbers predetermined one of our investment priorities. We are pleased that colleagues at the Russian Federal Aviation Authority have appreciated our efforts, and, for our part, are willing to enroll more trainees from other businesses in the industry.».
The training center has a special facility for practical training giving the employees an opportunity practice skills using real-world equipment - explosive detectors, X-ray TV stations, portable metal detectors, multi-zone walk-through metal detectors, and other technology. Since 2005, more than 1 billion rubles has been invested in the equipment.
The certificate authorizes Moscow Domodedovo Airport to offer 10 specialized courses, including those aimed at training professionals in preflight and post-flight inspections, aircraft inspections, profiling, prevention of unauthorized access to airport controlled areas, etc.
