DOMODEDOVO AIRPORT SWITCHES TO THE DOMESTIC AODB SOFTWARE
Moscow Domodedovo Airport is making an import substitution leap with its AODB, the main database of the airport's operations. Now, instead of the England-produced Ultra Electronics, a central aviation schedule database from a domestic developer, IPG, will be used.
“The Russian AODB has a number of advantages over its English counterpart," says Ilya Chernyakovich, Managing Director of ‘Domodedovo Integration’ LLC. “A distinctive feature of the new solution is, for example, a more user-friendly intuitive interface, which is used by flight controllers of the daily flight schedule. The adapted interface reduces the time required to acquire user skills in an information system. The domestic AODB has a more productive aviation message processing module. A custom web client allows users to get connected, without any restrictions on the user numbers.”
The FIDS module for visual passenger information is also being replaced with a Russian software solution. Before implementing the new solution, Domodedovo Airport conducted a user experience study, which served as the basis for determining system requirements.
