Moscow Domodedovo Airport to participate in the 25th World Route Development Forum
Moscow Domodedovo representatives are going to attend the upcoming 25th World Route Development Forum, which will take place in Adelaide, Australia, 21 to 24 September. The event is expected to attract over 600 companies and 3 000 delegates.
The air hub plans to discuss recent industry trends and prospects for cooperation with the route development community as well as showcase its projects.
In recent years Moscow Domodedovo has welcomed new airline partners into the family including Royal Air Maroc, and Ethiopian Airlines and Air Astana Thanks to these changes in 2019 DME hub connectivity increased 6.5%, given ACI Europe .
Moscow Domodedovo relies on an innovation-oriented business strategy to improve the passenger experience. In September 2019, the airport opened a new atrium in the domestic arrivals zone. Moscow Domodedovo has launched a free stroller rental for passengers with children. The air hub is developing as a destination in itself, conducting exhibitions and events on a regular basis.
In 2018 DME pioneered the implementation of self-service gates, equipped with both 2D barcode and QR code readers. In 2019 Moscow Domodedovo has introduced electronic boarding passes to ensure seamless traveling experience. Moreover, the airport has completed the testing of the automatic facial recognition system and started using 3D scanners to improve screening procedures.
The air hub has been developing its Moscow Aerotropolis project. This year the company has signed agreements to build a year-round resort, Holiday Inn Hotel, and a retail and wholesale center of 1 million square meters.
