Domodedovo Airport has served over 64,000 passengers with reduced mobility
In 2024, more than 64,000 people used Domodedovo Airport's escort services for passengers with reduced mobility. Ambulifts - special ground handling vehicles with a lifting body for comfortable and efficient transporting and boarding of passengers with disabilities - were provided for over 8.5 thousand people. The airport's fleet of ambulifts allows people with mobility challenges to be transported onto any type of aircraft, including the world's largest passenger airliner, Airbus A380.
“Passengers with reduced mobility can use our specialised escort service at any stage of their journey: they can choose to call the airport in advance and notify about the date and time of their arrival, or they can use the call button at special counters to summon an airport employee," explains Dmitry Shargel, Head of the Service-Sensitive Passengers Unit. “Our staff will help you to check in for the flight as quickly and comfortably as possible, take you through pre-flight procedures, and also escort you on board the aircraft.”
To cater to the comfort of passengers with mobility challenges and ensure an inclusive environment, a new unit equipped with electric transport trolleys has been created at the airport.
