DOMODEDOVO AIRPORT AND ‘SOMON AIR’ HAVE CELEBRATED THE ANNIVERSARY OF COOPERATION
It is 13 years since ‘Somon Air’ and Domodedovo Airport commenced cooperation. ‘Somon Air’ is the national carrier of Tajikistan and the country’s only airline that has membership in IATA – International Air Travel Association. The air fleet of ‘Somon Air’ consists of modern Boeing 737 aircraft, which allows the airline to ensure high levels of safety and comfort for passengers.
“We highly value our cooperation with ‘Somon Air’. Central Asian destinations are strategically important for Domodedovo Airport and ‘Somon Air’ provides air travel between Russia and Tajikistan, performing flights to Dushanbe and Khujand. There are plans for 2025 to resume flights to Kulyab as well,” says Irina Ryabinina, Managing Director of Domodedovo Commercial Services LLC. “Passenger traffic on routes to Tajikistan has been stably strengthening. As a result of 10 months 2024, it showed a hefty double-digit 29% upsurge YoY.”
