‘ROSSETI’ provided power for development of Domodedovo Airport

‘ROSSETI Moscow Region’ has upgraded a complex of facilities in the Domodedovo Urban District. The project allowed the company to add over 30% to the volume of supply to the grid of Domodedovo International Airport - one of the leading airports of Moscow Aviation Hub – taking the overall capacity to 37.3 MW. The route network of Domodedovo Airport covers more than 80 destinations. The electricity supply is provided with due account for possible power backup needed.

Power engineers have expanded the 10 kV switchgear at the 110 kV supply substation by installing additional linear cells. All necessary routine maintenance has been carried out at the adjacent 110 kV facility, both for load distribution across 10 kV switchgear sections and for the integration of electricity metering with the company's automated information and measurement system.

Earlier, important upgrade work had also been carried out in the main complex. In particular, ROSSETI had undertaken a large-scale reconstruction of a 500 kV substation in the Domodedovo District. Its operation secures the reliability of electricity supply in six urban districts with a population of more than 1.4 million people and large-scale consumers, including the airport.
