Moscow Aerotropolis presented at the Urban Forum in Moscow
Moscow Domodedovo Airport took part in the Moscow Urban Forum 2023. At the conference "Development and Investment 2023", organized by the Association and the Club of Moscow Investors at the site of the Moscow Urban Forum, the specialists of the air harbor presented a project for creating an airport city - "Moscow Aerotropolis — a multiplatform for investment".
Aerotropolis is a unique form of urban planning education in which the layout, infrastructure and economy are concentrated within a radius of 25 km from the core of the "transport metropolis" — the airport. DME representatives told how a whole city will grow on the basis of Domodedovo: coordinated logistics and transport hubs, shopping centers, business development areas and hotel complexes.
During the conference, the airport staff also shared their development plans: involving all owners of land and commercial facilities on the territory of the Moscow Aerotoropolis and creating a unique agglomeration that will provide an opportunity for its residents to develop successfully.
Moscow Domodedovo Airport is one of the largest air harbors in Russia and Eastern Europe, meeting the requirements for airports seeking to develop in the format of an aerotropolis, primarily due to land resources, which are sufficient to create an airport city — 16 thousand. Ha of a land bank suitable for the implementation of large-scale projects.
The development of the Moscow Aerotropolis is planned in accordance with the cluster concept. The first phase of the project is more than 1 thousand hectares and is represented by five clusters: Airport City, Business Park, Shopping and Recreational, Innovative and Industrial.
To date, within the framework of the Airport-City cluster, such complex facilities have been implemented as: a warehouse complex with an area of 30,000 m2, two eight-storey business centers over 20,000 m2, a multi-level parking lot and an Aeroexpress railway terminal with covered passages to the airport.
In addition, the first line of the Business Park cluster has already been built up with roadside service facilities - KFC fast food restaurants, Tasty. And That’s It, TEBOIL gas station, 1Park parking.
In other clusters, over 300 hectares of territories are under active development, which are available for the construction and development of various commercial real estate objects.
