Domodedovo Ranked the Best Russian Airport in 2016

February 8, 2017, Moscow. Moscow Domodedovo Airport was ranked in Russia's Air Gateway rating as the best airport in Russia. Domodedovo won in the main category - Best Airport 2016. The award was presented by the Russian Minister of Transport Mr. Maxim Sokolov.

Commenting on the award, Mr. Igor Borisov, CEO at Moscow Domodedovo Airport, said: "Recognition of the professional community is a great honor. We are delighted that our efforts to develop the airport as one of the key elements of Russia's transport system have been so highly appreciated by both experts and passengers."

According to the Organizing Committee, airports were assessed on a number of criteria objectively characterizing the functioning of the airport's terminals and services: customer service (passengers and airlines) quality, operating performance, transportation security, non-aeronautical operations, etc. Moscow Domodedovo Airport was voted the best in the International Airports category (10 million plus passengers annually).

The awards ceremony took place at the Fourth National Aviation Infrastructure Show NAIS - 2017.

Moscow Domodedovo Airport is one of Russia's largest aviation hubs. In 2016, the airport handled 28.5 million passengers. The route network includes 190 destinations; 75 of them are unique in Moscow Aviation Hub. Moscow Domodedovo Airport has been rated by Skytrax as the best airport in Russia and the CIS. Members of the world's leading airline alliances - Star Alliance and oneworld - have chosen Moscow's Domodedovo International Airport for their flights to and from Moscow. Moscow Domodedovo Airport is Russia's only airport regularly handling flights operated on Airbus A380, Airbus A350-900 and Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
