Domodedovo Again Named Best Airport in Eastern Europe
At the international World
Airport Awards 2011, passengers have voted Moscow Domodedovo Airport the best
airport in Eastern Europe.
Moscow Domodedovo Airport
steadily maintains its position among the top three airports in Eastern Europe
according to the Skytrax rating since 2004. For the second year in a row,
Moscow Domodedovo Airport has been voted by the passengers of the best airport
in Eastern Europe.
The organizer of the annual
international rating of the world's best airports is the independent research
company Skytrax Research.
SkyTrax survey rates
travelers' experiences of airports around the world - check-in, arrival,
transfer, departure, and other components of their stay at the airport as a
passenger.
Skytrax Research annually
conducts passenger surveys assessing the quality of airport services and the
convenience of passenger terminals on dozens of criteria. This time, the survey
covered 240 airports, and 11.38 million respondents from more than 100
countries shared their opinions.
The Skytrax World Airport
Awards 2011 ceremony was held in Copenhagen on March 30 this year.
Moscow Domodedovo Airport is
the largest airport in Russia, handling 44% of the total passenger traffic via
Moscow Aviation Hub. In 2010, 22.3 million passengers traveled through Moscow
Domodedovo Airport. More than 70 airlines are partners of the airport, among
them Russian and foreign air carriers. Members of the world's leading airline
alliances - Star Alliance, oneworld, and SkyTeam - have chosen Moscow
Domodedovo Airport for their flights to and from Moscow.
